Our New Office
It's been a long day for us here at
bit-tech.
We may have only moved a few miles down the road, but the herculean effort required to shift that much stuff (really, do Tim and Richard need
all those graphics cards and motherboards?) meant that it might as well have been the other side of the world.
Moving offices is a lot harder than it sounds and the work begins weeks in advance with us pouring over plans of where everyone would sit and who needed the most space. Still, now the fights and squabbles are done with
( heh, no, they've not started yet – Ed.) we can finally sit back and appreciate our handiwork.
At least, we can until Tim comes back and begins to devour all available desktop real-estate.
When we originally started writing this article we had a huge section here about how great we are, how much we love our readers and how great everything is going to be in the future. Then we got bored, trolled the forums for a while and decided to rewrite it all when the sheer soppiness of it all made Rich almost throw-up. So, let’s be honest here – tomorrow will be just another day at the office.
Tomorrow we'll be back to normal – playing games, breaking hardware, electrocuting each other, reading lolcats, watching
Zero Punctuation on endless loop, making huge lists of things we fill our days with and generally doing whatever we can to avoid having to get real jobs.
We hope we'll see you there.
We'd like to thank
D-Link who have kindly provided a gigabit smart switch (DGS-1224T), wireless N router (DSL-2740B) and NAS box for the new office. As expected the installation went smoothly and the offices network was up and running within a matter of minutes, tidying the patch cables however took up the majority of the time.
